Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

At the Journal of Agricultural Digitalization Research (JADR), we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published content. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and is considered a serious breach of publication ethics. This policy outlines our protocol for preventing, detecting, and addressing plagiarism at every stage of the manuscript submission and publication process.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism involves the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language, ideas, data, or work of others without proper acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Copying text, figures, tables, algorithms, code, or multimedia content without appropriate citation.
  2. Using substantial portions of another’s work without permission or referencing.
  3. Self-plagiarism, which refers to reusing significant content from one's previously published work without citing the original source.

Plagiarism Detection
All manuscripts submitted to JADR are subjected to a rigorous plagiarism screening before they enter the peer review stage. We employ advanced similarity detection tools to assess originality. Manuscripts are evaluated for content overlap with other published or submitted works.

Handling Detected Plagiarism
Depending on the level of similarity detected, the Journal of Agricultural Digitalization Research follows these guidelines:

  1. Less than 5% overlap: Manuscript will be assigned a submission ID and forwarded to the author for minor revisions.
  2. 5%–15% overlap: Manuscript will be returned to the author for revision before it can proceed. No ID will be assigned at this stage.
  3. More than 15% overlap: Manuscript will be rejected outright and must be resubmitted as a new submission after significant revision.

Rejection Due to High Plagiarism (>30%)
If a manuscript contains more than 30% plagiarized material, it will be immediately rejected. Such submissions fall outside the acceptable threshold for academic integrity and will not be considered unless extensively rewritten and resubmitted.

Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is discovered after an article has been published, JADR will:

  1. Conduct a formal investigation.
  2. Notify the authors’ affiliated institutions and any relevant funding agencies.
  3. Mark each page of the article PDF with a "Plagiarized Content" notice.
  4. Issue a formal retraction or correction depending on the extent of the issue.

Author Responsibility
By submitting to JADR, authors affirm that:

  1. Their manuscript is original.
  2. All sources have been properly cited.
  3. The content has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

Authors are responsible for understanding and avoiding plagiarism, whether intentional or accidental.

Self-Plagiarism
Reusing one’s own previously published material without citation is also a form of academic misconduct. Authors must reference any prior work used in a new submission to JADR. Content recycling without proper attribution will be treated as plagiarism.

Commitment to Ethical Originality
The Journal of Agricultural Digitalization Research is committed to publishing only original and ethically sound research. We reserve the right to request supporting documentation or clarifications on citations and originality when necessary.
